Natalie McCool Liverpool based alt. pop singer Natalie McCool has announced her return with superlative new single, Closure. The anthemic cut is the first fruits of the singer’s forthcoming third album, the follow up to acclaimed 2016 LP The Great Unknown.

Released through McCool’s own label Fortress Sounds, the track is available through all major digital platforms here.

A mixture of abrasive guitar textures and pounding drums with an earworm chours hook, McCool says of the track, “Have you ever wanted to get over someone so much that you figuratively bury them? Closure is the journey you take to finally slamming the door on that person. It’s a high energy middle finger to your once beloved. What I imagine people doing when they listen to this song is bouncing around singing the chorus at the top of their lungs - I wanted to create something that is anthemic but also full of humour”.

Closure’s appearance coincides with the singer’s recent single Wondrous Place being featured on the trailer for major new HBO / Sky Atlantic thriller The Third Day, featuring Jude Law, Naomie Harris and Paddy Considine and produced by Brad Pitt’s company Plan B.

With recent live dates understandably postponed, McCool returns to the stage in Autumn with a gig on home turf at The Stockroom, part of the legendary former venue The Kazimier and at Focus Wales festival, Wrexham (see details below).

Natalie McCool live dates:

Thu 24 September – Kazimier Stockroom, Liverpool
Thu 8 October – FOCUS Wales, Wrexham
